This Zoom link will take you to Greater Huron’s seminar detailing the framework for small businesses to obtain grants from South Dakota CARES Act Funding. The meeting is at 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 23 in Huron. It will outline the framework for businesses to qualify for Governor Noem’s $400 Million in CARES Act Grants.

Businesses with at least $25,000 gross revenue in 2019, and experiencing 25% or larger loss of business from May to August, would be eligible to apply. Applications are proposed to open October 12 and close on October 23. Grants would be awarded up to $100,000 per qualifying business. The free seminar will have a presentation on the proposed rules to qualify for a grant and examples that will assist businesses estimate the grant amount they could receive. On hand to take comments and answer questions will be Senator Jim White, Representative Roger Chase, and Representative Lynn Schneider. This seminar is designed to help businesses understand the program and be prepared to submit their application during the proposed 12 day enrollment window. The next legislative hearing on the SD CARES Act Funding will be held by the Special Interim Committee on Appropriations on September 30.

The program will be held on the second floor of the Campus Center, 333 9th Street SW in Huron, at 7:00pm. Seating will be arranged for social distancing and attendees are encouraged to wear masks. The meeting will also be available for attendance by Zoom video or via phone conference. Zoom attendees can also submit questions to the panel via the “chat” feature.
